Iowa State returning to Arrowhead?

Breaking news out of KC:
A "major college football announcement" with Kansas State and Iowa State officials is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium, fueling speculation that the teams will meet in a game or games at the neutral site.

There were no specific details about what the announcement would be, but the news release did say that Chiefs president Carl Peterson, Kansas State University athletic director Bob Krause and Iowa State University athletic director Jamie Pollard would attend.

For years, the Chiefs have pursued playing host to college football games. Pittsburg State and Northwest Missouri State have played their regular-season showdown at Arrowhead for several years. Last year, Kansas and Missouri played at Arrowhead and will again for at least one more season.

Kansas State has played regular season games at Arrowhead twice before, once in 2000 against Iowa and 2003 against California.

I was already planning on going to the game in Manhattan but this would be pretty awesome. I'm not a huge fan of giving up a home game if that's indeed what ISU would end up doing next year but the last time ISU played at Arrowhead was a blast and if it brings in more money for the Clones that's a good thing. ISU and K-State have the two best tailgating scenes I've ever been to so the parking lot will definitely be rocking before the game and I'd think they'd both bring a decent number of fans. It will be interesting to see if this is for this year's game or starting next year. I think if they waited next year they'd get a lot more fans just so it gives people time to plan and save $ for a trip like this.
